How it works

From scale to Garmin in three steps

Weigh yourself

Step on your scale as usual. With a Xiaomi scale, keep Scale Relay open and it reads the measurement directly.

Open Scale Relay

On the Health tab it shows the new weigh-ins your scale's app saved to Apple Health. Nothing is sent until you decide.

Send to Garmin

Review weight and whatever body composition is available, then send it to Garmin Connect. Two-factor sign-in is supported.

Your Garmin email and password go to Garmin only, straight from your phone; the session token is kept in the iOS Keychain. No Scale Relay account, and no Scale Relay server ever sees your password or your weigh-ins. The app contains no analytics, ads or tracking.

Why doesn't Garmin Connect read my weight from Apple Health?

Today Garmin Connect writes to Apple Health but does not read weight from it, so the weigh-in your scale's app saved stops there. Scale Relay reads it from Health and sends it to Garmin Connect, with body fat and BMI when your scale's app recorded them.

I linked MyFitnessPal and my weight still doesn't reach Garmin.

The scale app → Apple Health → MyFitnessPal → Garmin chain carries weight only and often needs MyFitnessPal opened to fire; some users report it stopping after enabling Garmin's own nutrition tracking. Scale Relay sends directly and keeps a "Sent to Garmin" list so you know what arrived.

Is it automatic?

No. New weigh-ins wait on the Health tab and you tap Send. Nothing leaves your phone without that tap, the same weigh-in is never sent twice, and you see what Garmin accepted.

Will body fat show up in Garmin, or only weight?

Weight, plus body fat and BMI when your scale's app wrote them to Health. With a Mi Body Composition Scale 2 or Xiaomi S400 over Bluetooth also muscle, water, bone mass and BMR.

Does my Garmin password leave my phone?

It goes to Garmin's sign-in only, straight from your iPhone, and is not stored. Scale Relay keeps the session token in the iOS Keychain. There is no Scale Relay account and no Scale Relay server.

Does it work with Garmin two-factor authentication?

Yes. Enter the code from your email or authenticator app when Garmin asks. You sign in once; the session is kept until you sign out.
